Both Energy Solutions and The M&E Event are co-located together & form two-thirds of the October series at Olympia.
Both the Energy sector & Energy Solutions Expo are currently experiencing very strong growth, with realistic forecasts aiming for further growth in 2010. There is a real opportunity for the successful candidate to earn not only full commissions but overage within this role. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate how they can accelerate the growth of both events, but particularly Energy Solutions Expo, taking advantage of the buoyant Energy market & push the event to the next stage of its rapid development.
Job Summary
The Sales Manager plays a critical role in revenue delivery across both events. The role involves day-to-day management of the Energy & M&E sales team whilst working closely with the marketing, administration and operations teams to ensure the smooth management and delivery of all aspects of the events. Additionally the successful candidate will need to work with the Event Manager on all phases of the budgeting and forecasting processes & demonstrate experience & capability in delivering on the following key tasks:
The Sales Manager plays a critical role in revenue delivery across both events. The role involves day-to-day management of the Energy & M&E sales team whilst working closely with the marketing, administration and operations teams to ensure the smooth management and delivery of all aspects of the events. Additionally the successful candidate will need to work with the Event Manager on all phases of the budgeting and forecasting processes & demonstrate experience & capability in delivering on the following key tasks:
• Position and maintain shows as the definitive events in their markets, strengthening market share and brand identity
• Manage the day to day running of the sales function
• Be accountable for the financial performance of the show on a day to day basis, ensuring it achieves target contribution
• Maximise all potential sales on the event by developing and executing a sales plan, directing and motivating the sales team, meeting and exceeding monthly and annual sales targets and developing income from other sources e.g. sponsorship
• Personal responsibility for total sales
• Be knowledgeable of relevant marketplace, competitive shows and other media
• Appraise and develop staff
• Be a role model within the team and portfolio, maintaining a professional attitude to conduct, plus product, market and company knowledge
• Regular reporting upward as required
• Manage the day to day running of the sales function
