 | Jonathan Newby is CEO of Built Environment, which includes magazines and events in the construction and architecture sector, Barbour Index compendium and directories businesses and the Property portfolio of magazines and events. Jonathan joined the then CMPi in July 2004. |
Jonathan's publishing career began at IPC Media in 1988 where he worked on a wide range of brands in a variety of mass market and consumer specialist sectors, including the women's weeklies and New Scientist. From 1995 to 1997 he was Publishing Director responsible for company wide New Media developments, a position he left to become Managing Director of Elsevier Science London, a division of Reed Elsevier plc.
In 2000 he moved on from Elsevier Science to set up and run his own media services company and in 2002 Jonathan took on the role of Chief Executive of RIBA Enterprises - the commercial arm of the Royal Institute of British Architects - a position he held until joining CMPi.
