What’s your current role?

I currently work on Think as Event Co-ordinator and main responsibilities include managing the VIP programme, recruitment of members and logistics of the Think100 forum and co-ordinating the sales for the Think Ball.

What other roles have you performed in your time here?

I was part of the Graduate trainee programme. This was a 12 month programme to gain experience in 4 disciplines - Sales, Marketing, Operations and Conferences.  Being new to the industry this was a fantastic way to gather information and learn the different roles that make up an exhibitions team.

What’s the best thing about your job?

There is a lot of variety in my job!  Every day I speak to someone I've never spoken to before. There are always new ideas and developments to discuss, there is never a dull moment!

What gets you out of bed on a wet, cold Monday morning?

I enjoy what I do, and my colleagues are great people to work with.

What’s been a major highlight of your career to date?

During the graduate scheme, being part of the TFM team and the Think team and working with them to successfully launch new events - the TFM awards and Think07.

What’s been the most unusual thing you have done at CMPi?

As part of a team building day whilst in Holland we spent the afternoon with well known dutch artist, Ans Markus. We were taken to her workshop where she spoke of her work and inspirations. A task was then set for us to paint our customers perception of our exhibition!!  The finished paintings are now on display in the staff canteen within the Dutch office.

What was a particular highlight of the graduate scheme?

Having the opportunity to live in Holland for 3 months has definitely been the highlight of my year during the grad scheme.

Why would you recommend someone working at CMPi?

CMPi can offer so much career wise as well as socially. Training and development is taken seriously and there are always social gatherings on a Friday night (or any night, for that matter).

If you had to describe your life at CMPi in three words, what would they be?

Dynamic, satisfying and rewarding.

Has there been a memorable team day out?

The team day with Interiors - taken on a boat up the Thames and there was good food, good wine flowing and great laughs!!  Involved a bit of free style karaoke, a few team games and general silliness!

Future ambitions in the role?

As I'm quite new to the role I am to deliver a successful VIP programme at Think08, make the Think Ball a sell out event and ensure the success of the new networking forum for key influencers on sustainability in the built environment.

What do you think are the next steps in your career here?

I have training in the pipeline to help me develop in my new / current role.  In the next 12 months I'll be looking at other training to assist me to work towards a role of an Event Manager.

Have you travelled with your job? If so, where and why?

Whilst working in Holland and working on international shows I spent a week in both Paris and Frankfurt to attend exhibitions I had been working on during my placement there.
